New Owners, Same Core Principles

Susan Romanini established the first Wynwood location in Centre Hall in 2001. A few years later, her eldest son, Vince, joined her in the business to fuel the growth of Wynwood House. In 2014, Vince became the owner/administrator of the business and expanded to 5 locations. Boalsburg, State College, Spring Mills and Green Hills. The Romanini's have been consultants for  the three new owners ensuring the preservation of Wynwood House's core principles and values.

“For me, starting the business was all about hospitality. This is not a facility; it’s a community. We provide medical care, but they’re not patients. They’re residents; this is their home,” Romanini explained.

Holiday Focused Community

“Come and remember your life with us. Come and join this community of celebration,” Benjamin Myers said. “Family comes in during the holidays and there’s interesting things to do. So, we want to be a holiday-focused community from an activities and wellness perspective, along with excellent care. That is what we strive to do, and we are building on that with this outcome in place.”

Committed Staff

Wynwood House also boasts a dedicated team of employees who weathered the transition remarkably and enthusiastically. Prioritizing employees is essential to Wynwood House’s values, understanding that it leads to the highest quality of care for residents.

Prioritizing Employees & Resident Care

“If we prioritize our employees first, and we find ways of incentivizing and growing compensation and growing opportunity for advancement and education, and if we set those parameters in place, they will take care of our residents excellently,” Benjamin Myers explained.“ A great employee takes care of the resident in an excellent way, and if we take care of the resident in an excellent way, profitability will be a byproduct of great employees, excellent experience, and service.”

Tailored to each resident

Wynwood House prides itself in offering much-needed services for seniors in the area. More special features include home-style nutritious meals and snacks, a homey atmosphere, health monitoring, personalized care based on individual residents’ needs, and much more. “Very flexible — I would say that’s a huge, huge component here. We have folks here that require a lot of assistance, and we have folks here that’ll get in their car and go do whatever they please,” Brian Myers explained.
